The Body Remembers” by Rabbiya Ilyas This conical sculpture is covered entirely in shattered mirror pieces. “The body Remembers” what we learn to hide. Society often tells us to keep parts of ourselves concealed. Because of judgment and pressure, we end up feeling fragmented inside. The broken mirrors represent that fragmentation. When you stand before the work, you don’t see one whole reflection — you see many shattered pieces of yourself. It’s a reminder that even the things we don’t speak about are still carried by the body, and they shape who we are.
